i saw the tv glow★★★★☆incredible atmosphere and cinematography in a touching and compelling film. it resonated deeply, as a queer person working to unburden my repression. though i had some issues with the pacing, i believe the story and themes make it a must watch, especially if you are queer or have experienced repression of your true self. |

the substance★★★★★uncomfortable. visceral. grotesque. all of these could describe the substance. the disgustingness adds to the themes, of ageism in hollywood, of being undesirable. self hatred, unable to reconcile with yourself and your new circumstances when given the chance to live the glory you once had. incredible movie, with incredible cinematography and special fx. the actresses and actors did a great job too. |

sorry to bother you★★★★★surrealist comedy and satire. i could definitely not ever predict that ending if i tried. i believe this is a movie you should go in knowing very little and experiencing the ride it takes you on. fun cinematography, great jobs done by the actors, and a very poignant message. currently my favorite movie of all time, i really do think it is that good. |

videodrome★★★★✬i loved the plotline and not knowing exactly what happens next. i also loved how open the ending was. it used its runtime extremely effectively and the sfx, while dated, fit in very well with the movie. overall a great experience, i really enjoyed the movie and definitely will watch it again. definitely in my top 15 films now. yes i am a little drunk writing this but even barring that i think it's a great film |

the thing (1982)★★★★★saw a comment that described it as among us the movie and it made me laugh. it isn't wrong. i love the practical effects, the ambiguous ending, and all of the actors did a great job. it made me so uncomfortable, and that's a good thing, it meant to. i love when movies make me feel so strongly that i have to avert my eyes or take a break to chill out. i literally only got around to watching it just to watch a youtube video lol, but i definitely don't regret the watch |

titane (2021)★★✬✩✩I get what it was going for, but it didn't really resonate with me. I have a feeling if I watched it a second time I could gather more from it, but it really didn't inspire any feelings within me to make me want to give it a second watch. I don't regret watching the movie, but after this first watch I probably won't think about it much. The visuals were incredible, I liked the sound design too. The characters, plot, and usage of body horror just really fell flat for me. The themes it tried to go for were pretty good, how unconditional love can be a horrific thing being the stand out one, but they felt sort of shallow to me due to nothing that happened in the movie felt like it had any consequence. I appreciate what it was going for, I just personally disliked the execution. |
